When artificial plants make sense
Low-light interior corners, hot reception areas, balconies without water access, shaded outdoor areas where real plants struggle, and short-term staging for events or showrooms. Anywhere real plants would die quickly is a good candidate.
Specs to insist on outdoors
UV-rated colour stability, fire-retardant treatment for indoor commercial use, and HDPE construction for outdoor pieces. Cheap artificial plants in Dubai sun bleach white within a year.
Styling — getting it to look real
Mix two or three species of varying heights, use real planters with real bark or moss topdressing, and dust them like real furniture. The plant itself is only half the realism — placement and styling are the rest.
Why we sometimes recommend real plants instead
We'll honestly tell you when real plants are the better choice. Well-lit interiors with attentive staff, shaded outdoor courtyards with irrigation, and most villa gardens are all better served by real planting. We use artificial selectively — in the spots real plants would clearly fail — not as a blanket replacement.
